About Me

It has always been about leadership and how to be a better leader.

On that journey I have become an expert in leadership research, including the work in authentic, servant, and transformational leadership styles. My thesis titled Asian American Leadership: Does Leadership Style Matter? is a result of wrestling with ethnicity, my bicultural background, and how those qualities inform my leadership.

I want to see things get done – in a holistic way.

I believe that leadership and systems are key. Industrial organizational psychology – the intersection of psychology and business – is a way of seeing organizations holistically and a perspective I bring to my role as a Senior Organization Effectiveness Consultant at UC San Diego Health. Prior to my current role, I was a Management Consultant supporting the UC San Diego Design Lab and the Education Program Manager of Qualcomm Institute.

Speaking, listening, and being more mindful.

In addition to project management, I am drawn to public speaking and speech-writing. Speech is an art, and I love being able to explore it as a Toastmaster. One of my more tangible goals in communication is to convey evaluations in a succinct and meaningful way. Beyond that, I sing and do some yoga on the side. I am currently (and always) working on practicing more mindfulness.
